FestPAC Hawai'i will bring together delegations and leaders from 28 Pacific Nations.

The ATAYAL Organization is honored to participate in the 13th Festival of Pacific Arts and Culture in Hawai'i by joining and supporting the delegation of the Pacific Island nation of Tuvalu through our Indigenous Youth Ambassador Program (IBYAP). Please what will be achieved with your SUPPORT!

• Expanding the Tuvaluan delegation to include culture-keepers and youth ambassadors from Nukulaelae, to provide full, meaningful representation of the music and dance of the Fatele.
• Sponsoring Tuvualuan youth to join the Indigenous Bridges Youth Ambassador Program (IBYAP) while they are at FestPAC Hawai'i. Signing an MOU with the Tuvalu Minister of Culture. The program develops youth to become problem-solvers, culture keepers, and protectors of the environment.
• Connecting the government and cultural leaders of Tuvalu with IBYAP and our partners (i.e. Green2Gold) to develop regenerative solutions to mitigate rising sea levels and culture loss. This includes discussion to take steps to make Tuvalu 100% Green.
• Bringing Tuvalu, one of the most vulnerable communities at risk from rising sea levels, to the table with the leaders of 28 Pacific nations to discuss issues and solutions.
• Introducing the Indigenous Bridges Youth Ambassador Program (IBYAP) to the leaders of Pacific Island nations.

Fundraising Needs:

The ATAYAL Organization and the Tuvalu delegation are seeking to raise USD $79,825 by June 1, 2024 for the following items:

• The Tuvaluan delegation seeks a total of $69,825 for expenses related to bringing an additional 15 delegation members from Tuvalu to FestPAC Hawai'i. This includes travel expenses and the transportation of cultural items and handicrafts. This also includes necessary expenses from a layover in Fiji. These designated funds will be handed directly to a Tuvalu government representative at FestPAC for disbursement to the delegation members, with expense receipts provided to our organization. • The ATAYAL Organization seeks $3,000 for a welcome dinner for the Tuvalu delegation with an orientation meeting about the Indigenous Bridges Youth Ambassador Program.
• The fundraising campaign includes 10% dedicated ($7,000) to administrative expenses and incidentals, including organizing the program and having our representative travel to FestPAC and provide the program information to the delegates.
